Home advantage for Kingsbridge and Honiton in cups

KINGSBRIDGE and Honiton have both been handed home advantage in the next rounds of the RFU national cups.

Kingsbridge will play Matson in the South West Counties’ final stage of the Intermediate Cup on February 23 after they overcame Wadebridge Camels 25-24 on Saturday.

George Banfield scored all Kingsbridge’s points against the Camels, including a hat-trick of tries.

Honiton will face Burnham-on-Sea at home in the South West Counties’ Senior Vase final on February 23 after they beat Penryn 19-15 down in Cornwall on Saturday, thanks to two tries from Harry Wright.

Meanwhile, Dartmouth narrowly missed out on progressing in the RFU Junior Vase on Saturday. They went down 28-21 at home to Newquay Hornets. John Dingle, Tom Clark and Luke Chase were among Dartmouth’s scorers in that match.
