TOPSHAM were victorious in Devon’s first Walking Rugby Festival.

The event was held at Topsham’s Bonfire Field on Sunday and attracted teams from as far away as Bristol and Gloucestershire.

Topsham entered two sides and it was their Fossil 1 team that took the title ahead of Kingswood RFC, who took second. Bristol WRC, meanwhile, took the fair play award.

All the trophies were presented by Devon RFU president Treve Mitchell.

“It was a brilliant day,” said a Topsham spokesperson. “And our thanks to Kingswood and Bristol for making it such an enjoyable festival.”
