Exeter Touch Rugby trio to compete at European Championships

THREE members of Exeter Touch Rugby will earn international honours next week when they compete at the European Touch Championships in Nottingham.

Alan Hubbleday and Matt Mahoney will both represent the England men’s 35 team, while Mir Noonan is named in Ireland women’s 27 squad.

Joining them at the European Touch Championships will be fellow Exeter member Jonathan Harding, who will be refereeing.

The championships will see 63 teams from 16 different countries competing in different categories at the University of Nottingham.

As well as England and Ireland, France, Scotland, Wales, Spain, Belgium, Italy, Sweden, Switzerland, Portugal, Luxembourg, Jersey and Guernsey will also compete for European honours, while there will also be guest sides from Chile and the Middle East.

The opening ceremony will be on Tuesday (July 17), with action getting underway on Wednesday and continuing through to Saturday.
