DEVON finished third in Division One Pool Three of the Gill Burns Women’s County Championship after losing their final group game against Kent 41-0.

Kent were looking to top the group, but in the end they needed to score 11 more points against Devon to do that after Berkshire overcame Gloucestershire 65-0.

Berkshire and Kent both finished on 12 points, with Devon second on five points and Gloucestershire bottom with just one point.

Kent did the damage in the first half at Aylesford when they scored five tries to lead 29-0.

They only managed two more tries in the second period, both inside the first 15 minutes, as Devon got to grips with the strength and speed of their opponents.
