THIS month’s south Devon pitch-up-and-play event has been postponed due to the bad weather.

The session should have been held next Wednesday (February 21), at Paignton, but an early decision has been made to postpone it due to the state of the pitch.

The remaining pitch-up-and-play sessions are now:

Wednesday, March 21, at Teignmouth (6.30pm).

Sunday, April 1, at Brixham (1pm)

Wednesday, April 18, at Newton Abbot.

Pitch-up-and-play sessions are playing opportunities for male senior players (18+) who are either:

·         New to the game

·         Returning to rugby after a long period of not playing

·         Old (typically over-40)

·         Social (don’t have the time, desire or ability to play league or merit table rugby)

Players don’t need to get a team together (but it’s great if you can), but just turn up with your boots, shorts, socks and a gum shield and teams will be sorted on the day. The laws are ‘adjusted’ to suit the age, experience and abilities of the players.

A few drinks and food will be provided after the session.
