Topsham Fossils Walking Rugby enjoy success at National Vintage Games

TOPSHAM Fossils Walking Rugby team were victorious at the National Vintage Games in Bath at the weekend.

Topsham comfortably overcame Kingswood Blue, Esher Gold and Newent in their group games before progressing through the final, where they beat Old Guildfordians 7-0.

The event took place at the Bath University Sports Training Village and walking rugby was just one of a host of different sports taking part in the National Vintage Games.

The National Vintage Games were founded in 2017 and were the UK’s first competitive and recreational event for over-50s.

Topsham’s team were made up of Roger Bannister, John Carroll, Andy Martin, Jose Northey, Tim Ridgeway (c), Owen Smith, Dave Turner, Sally Turner, Vanessa Wick and Ritch Williams.
