TORQUAY Athletic II came from behind to win the David Butt Trophy on Sunday at Crediton.

The Tics beat fellow Devon Merit Table Division Two South & West side Salcombe 38-22.

Salcombe, who had finished top of the league table - one point ahead of Torquay, were leading 17-12 at half-time in Sunday’s final.

But the Tics scored two quick tries at the start of the second half to turn the game around.

Ben Spear and Jon Woodhead both collected two tries for Torquay, with Ash Sharp and Arron Graham also touching down.

Members of David Butt’s family were at the game to help present the trophies and medals along with Devon RFU president Treve Mitchell.
