Under-18 girls beat Cornwall and Gloucestershire at the Rectory
DEVON Under-18 girls were only beaten by Somerset in their final South West festival of the season, which was held at Devonport Services’ famous Rectory ground.
Devon beat both Cornwall and Gloucestershire in 15-a-side and seven-a-side games on Sunday, but they just were not able to get the better of Somerset.
The day started off with Devon taking on Somerset in a 15-a-side contest. The hosts were slow to start but came back strong in the second half, however, they were narrowly beaten 19-12.
Devon, though, turned on the style in their next game against Cornwall, running out 48-0 winners.
Against Gloucestershire, Devon’s scrum totally dominated and gave a platform for the team to run out 19-0 winners.
In the sevens, Devon were beaten 45-7 by a strong Somerset team but they bounced back to beat Cornwall 49-0 and then Gloucestershire 26-24.
