DEVON RFU are about to begin their preparations for the Jason Leonard Under-20 County Championships.
The championship will start in February, but Devon have lined up two warm-up matches in January.
County selectors have been watching matches and a number of players have been already been nominated for the squad.
However, we are keen to make sure we have not overlooked any talented young player.
If you think your club does have a young player or players who you believe are of the standard to play for the county and were under-20 at the start of the season, then please contact head coach Lewis Paterson on 07712 553856 or at email@example.com with their details, including position, date of birth and playing experience, by Tuesday, December 5, 2017. Nominations should be made by the club’s head coach or senior official.
Please note that nominating a player does not guarantee they will be invited to train with the squad, but it does mean they will be considered.
A selected number of players will be invited to a meeting at Ivybridge RFC on Monday, December 11, 2017 at 6.45pm.
Playing for Devon Under-20s does offer the opportunity to progress through to the South West squad and the England Counties Under-20 team.
Devon’s Under-20 County Championship group games will be against Somerset (away) on Sunday, February 11, 2018 and Berkshire (home) on Sunday, March 18.
